Meet Our Team
Jennifer is the founder and creative visionary behind Jennifer Butler Design. Growing up in northern Michigan, Jennifer developed an aptitude for business from her father and a creative spirit all her own. Jennifer holds degrees from Kendall College of Art & Design in interior design and Grand Valley State University in business and French.
Jennifer’s career began with an internship in Tours while studying in France. This was followed by ten years of extensive design experience working for architects and a developer. In 2003 Jennifer was compelled to open Jennifer Butler Design, designing luxury residential interiors in West Michigan.
Jennifer loves a great sense of humor and truly enjoys working with others who also appreciate a good laugh. Her first loves are her husband and daughter, Todd and Reese, and the newest member of their family, mini golden doodle, Bella.
Amy Vande Streek
Amy joined Jennifer in 2012 beginning a new chapter that would help catalyze the vision for Jennifer Butler Design. With her experience in commercial architecture, marketing, and as a LEED Accredited Professional in Interior Design + Construction, Amy has broadened the studio's perspective and prospects.
Amy grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and moved to Michigan to attend Calvin College where she graduated and studied business, art and architecture. She spent a semester studying in London, two years teaching in China at Beijing Institute of Technology, and a period practicing architecture primarily in healthcare, recreation and education in Grand Rapids. Amy now resides in the NYC Metro Area where she develops our design content and has expanded our studio’s design services to clients on the east coast.
While this west coast native loves exploring the northeast with her family, she especially loves the comforts of home. She adores reading with her three boys, hiking the local nature preserve and bringing friends together to celebrate and learn their craft from cooking scallops to arranging wildflowers.
Andy elevates the level of creativity and laughter that happens in the JBD studio. He loves to decorate and sweat the details. He brings organization where there is disorder. He is a trusted advisor. His clients and colleagues alike appreciate his honesty and loyal advocacy for them.
An award-winning designer, Andy is a graduate of Indiana University and Harrington College. Until recently, he worked in Chicago’s luxury residential interior design market. His work in Chicago included acting as the Editor for Inside Illinois, The ASID Illinois Chapter newsletter and the Chair of the Celebrating Gala Committee for their annual awards ceremony. Andy is currently active on the Board of ASID Michigan and volunteers for Habitat for Humanity Kent County.
Andy, a native of Kentucky bluegrass country, is now happy to consider himself a “yankee” as a full-time resident of Grand Rapids.
He loves everything Paris and is inspired by global culture and a daily intake of design magazines. When he’s not designing, he loves listening to the Radio Lab or Freakonomics podcasts while walking his cuddly dog, Pepper.
Analyse, our brave intern, never shies away from a challenge. An interior design student at Kendall College of Art & Design, Annie balances her work with Jennifer Butler Design and her college coursework with an appreciation for gaining real-world experience away from academia.
A meticulous organizer, Analyse keeps our atelier usable and the office presentable for all our guests. Her CAD and 3D modeling skillsets bring our interior design concepts to life. She loves helping us evince our vision to every client and being apart of the process of designing interiors that ultimately create places that bring people comfort and joy.
Analyse finds her inspiration when spending time outdoors. Her favorite place to go in Grand Rapids is the Gerald R. Ford International Airport Viewing Park where she loves to watch airplanes land and take off. Analyse loves to garden, growing flowers and food, and is determined to achieve a 100% survival rate each spring.
