An expanding Grand Rapids area law firm anticipating continuing growth took on a complete redesign of their workplace to match its level of professionalism and credibility. Stately and sophisticated, the complete renovation of executive offices, conference space, reception and a full-service print room created a natural cohesion between open and private work areas.
Large swaths of natural light invigorate the offices and reception areas. Louvered translucent panels offer privacy with partial transparency and capture soft borrowed light between the corridor and the conference room. Clerestory light and new task lighting illuminate and support offices and meeting areas throughout the firm.
Space planning was just as critical in transforming the practice as lighting, finishes and furnishings. This command desk was designed to control entry and flow between two partner offices as well as proximity to administration. The renovation ultimately unified the office with strategic spatial and material adjacencies building morale and improving employee wellness, satisfaction and performance.
