2020: A Reflection

Like many small businesses, we began the year with a positive outlook and envisioned the many possibilities 2020 would bring. Yet by March, it was clear the pandemic would wreak havoc on so many individuals and businesses. We were hit hard in Michigan, and mandated to shut down our physical office for three months. Thankfully, we were able to continue our work virtually, and remained healthy.  We observed several of our colleagues and clients hit with much bigger losses, including the lives of those they loved. Our hearts are still with them, and everyone who struggled and continues to suffer the ramifications of SARS-COVID19.

Surrounded by a global pandemic, civil unrest, growing anxiety and uncertainty, we looked inward. Our own internal reckoning forced us to examine every aspect of our business, from the top down. We made the decision to double our efforts toward process improvement, and grow our team by adding two stellar members: Design Assistant, Desiree, and Operations Manager, Colleen. Our evolution is ongoing, but we feel incredibly lucky to have this team, and very optimistic about the future of our business.

There were highlights, too. 2020 brought us another Best of Houzz Design Award, and national recognition with an ARDA Award for Indoor Living. By most measures of success, it was a seminole year for us. We are healthy, busy, and envision more good fortune for 2021. Despite the unusual and unpredictable nature of the year, we managed to increase our clientele and meet significant milestones for growth. We truly appreciate our clients and partners, who trust our expertise, support us, and continue to be patient and flexible.

Without this amazing extended family, we would not have survived - thrived, even - the last year. We are deeply humbled and grateful beyond our ability to express in words. Thank you all, so very much. We hope you are well and wish you a very Happy New Year!
